Playdate with Timmy and Elphie!

Julia finally got together with Timmy again. We postponed our playdate twice due to Sarah's (Timmy's mom) sickness and then to Julia's runny nose. They both had fun 'talking' to each other during lunch and later playing and running around the house! It was hilarious! We got some additional bruise on the forehead, but no biggie ;). Julia is tough! We also got a chance to meet Timmy's baby sister Elphie for the first time:). She is a cutie :). Julia tried to take her paci :).

15 month well check!

Today, Julia had her 15 month well check with Dr. Rowe. Unfortunately, Daddy bailed on us last minute due to the conference call, therefore, it was just the two of us. Hmmmm, the breakout started when the nurse sat Julia on the scale (just like the last time). When Dr. Rowe entered the room and started the evaluation, our child reacted like she was being skinned huh. She calmed down when we left the check up room and she was ok while in doctor's office. We went through her stats:
- weight: 20.4lbs ( about 25-30%) (at 12 months she was 19.8lbs),
- height 31 3/4 (90%).
Doctor said he was ok with her weight, even though she is on a lower side. His words 'somebody has to be tall and skinny in this world, right' hehe.
Other than that she is a happy and healthy baby!
He also mentioned that her upper molars are coming in ( I noticed it 3 weeks ago, but wasn't 100% sure).
After our conversation, the time has come.....shots :(. Yeah, we had tears, but fortunately, Julia had only 2 shots this time.
After we got home, she had a bowl of oatmeal with banana and a warm milk. I let her rest and watch Sprout TV for 15 min. It was time for a morning nap, which lasted ..................from 10.30am to 2.30pm!!!I think we had a record. That doc's visit must have been exhausting huh.

Past 2 weeks!

Stony Point outing with Sofia on Wednesday ( July 11th). Girls had so much fun splashing in the fountain. We shopped a little bit and had lunch outside.

Papa Joe and Marie visited us last weekend and brought the rocking lamb they originally gave Julia for her 1st birthday (it didn't fit in our car). As you can see, she enjoys it :). It was a quite busy weekend: farmer's market, buying new refrigerator, moving the old refrigerator, Spanish restaurant etc.

Tuesday morning mr. Sniffles (totally uninvited) came to visit :(. One child at Romp n' Roll had a runny nose and it didn't take long for Julia to catch it. It wasn't too bad, but she was fussy and uncomfortable for about 4 days. We had to cancel play time with Timmy and his new baby sister  Elphie on Wednesday and had to skip Romp n' Roll class on Thursday. We are careful (unlike some other people grrrr) to not get other kids sick. We went shopping to Short Pump Mall instead. Poor Princess woke up crying around 1am on Thursday night with stuffy nose. I had to snuggle it back to sleep. She felt much better on Friday.

First Swimming class - Aqua Tots!

First trial class and it was a hit! We are signing up!!! One 30 min class per week! Only 1 little problem: every time Julia's face gets closer to the water, she opens her mouth huh ;)!!!

Sofia is here as well:)!!!

New day, new activity! Climbing as is :)

Julia has descovered a new fun activity: climbing! I entered her toy room and there she was sitting on a toy chest. She immediately started demonstrating her new skill. I was laughing and was so proud until....I turned around and she was standing on it! I almost got a heart attack. That toy chest had to go!

Another splash, splash kinda day!

Sooooo hot, but never too hot to have so much fun:). And yes, new day, new bathing suit ;)

Wedgie can happen hehe :)

Silly Dada is splashing ;)

Picnicking!

After the nasty storm on Monday last week, Tuesday's weather was amazing in low 70s. Julia and I grabbed picnic food, our blankie and stroller and drove the whole 2 minutes ;) to the neighbourhood park. We strolled twice around the lake and then found a shady spot underneath the tree and had our lunch. These days, it is super hard to sit still though hehe.

Major events in our lives in the past 2 weeks:)

- On the June 20th, I attended the oath ceremony in the US District court and officially became a dual citizen. Christine, our friend works there temporarily and her judge Novak ran the ceremony, so she was also present,
- We are 100% drinking from the straw cup now :),
- Pancakes with fresh raspberries are yummy; pancakes taste better than raspberries though ;),

Hugo also loves pancakes!

- Every Saturday morning we go to the farmer's market to buy veggies and fruit. We also have breakfast there :)

- on Wednesday week ago, Julia and I drove to Ikea in Potomac Mills (Northeren Virginia) to buy tons of decorations for the house and some stuff like a new play mat for Julia. We had lunch in the Ikea cafeteria,

- currently, we spend most our days indoors due to the heat, so we allow Julia to watch some Sprout TV at times to times,

What is this silly Elmo doing? :):):) + new toys from Ikea: squishy play mat (gray with circus animals), soft blocks and soft book!
- We are also pointing these days :)

- my very own homemade crapes :)

Blog updated back to 6/23 FYI :)

I got super busy with everything around the house, so today I updated most of the posts. You need to go to previous page to see playtime with Lilly :).

Dresser project!

Since we bought a new dresser for our bedroom, we decided to get rid of our old dresser. However, I found this cool idea of transforming that dresser to a more contemporary look I want, so I decided to keep it and work on it. We just moved it to the garage and let the project begin. Here is a similar dresser and this is what I want it to look after (not exactly like that but similar). Our dresser is much nicer and in much better condition, but it will require tons of work as well! I'm in love with white furniture, so this looks perfect! I will keep you updated on this!

Happy Birthday Daddy and 4th of July!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday in Maggiano's, Italian restaurant. Daddy had to work that day, so we had only evening to each other.

On the 4th of July, Daddy had to work half day, so the rest of the day we could spend together. Julia had fun splashing in the baby pool (she hated it before for some reason, maybe the water was too cold or too many people around). However, with mommy and daddy around, she had a blast :).

After Julia's afternoon nap, we went to El Paso, Mexican restaurant for dinner (the same one, we took Daddy last year for his birthday). This year, he had 2 birthday dinners and he was certainly craving margaritas.

THIS YEAR!!!(bigger baby=bigger margarita:))))

LAST YEAR!!!
