Fun with Lily! Happy Polish Father's Day to my Dad!

Today we went to Justin's law school friend Beth to hang out and let Julia play with Beth's daughter Lily. Lily will be 4 in September and was surprised that Julia was so small hehe. I think she was expecting someone closer to her age, oooopsie, However, they were playing great together and Lily even helped Julia with her dinner. She was practicing for her baby brother arrival in early July! Girls have fun playing in Lily's toy room and after that, we all had dinner. We were discussing parenting insights a little bit and gathered some info about Richmond Montessori school that Lily currently attends and loves. We are thinking about sending Julia to that school in the Fall of 2013, however they only offer 5 day (8am-12pm) toddler program and we would like to start her with 3 day for now. In early June, Justin was touring West End Montessori that is much closer to our house and offers 3 day classes, but the school is not as great as the Richmond Montessori. Still very good, though. Decisions, decisions huh.

Friday fun with Sofia!

On Friday, we met Sofia and her mom Stephanie for lunch in Baker's Crust in Carytown. Salads in that place are awesome!!! After lunch we headed to Maymont park in attempt to take Daddy's Day pictures with white letters. Sofia was doing fine with the photo shoot. Julia on the other hand we approaching her nap time and was more interesting in walking around etc. It was super hot as well, so she was out of it. The girls had fun playing together under the tree, in the shade, though :). In the end, I took some cute pics of Julia (the one in the dress) on our backyard after her afternoon nap. She was rested and in a better mood :). I think they turnout great. I will have to download from my camera the one we took in Maymont for comparison ;).

Our Princess is 14 months on June 16th!!!

Time surely flies!!!
Basic stats of our Princess:
-weights 21 lbs,
- has 8 toothers,
- wakes up between 7.30am and 8.30am,
- takes two 2hour naps during the day,
- wears size 3 and 4 diapers,
- loves to eat, not a big drinker though,
- loves yogurts, turkey and cheese sandwiches, and Gerber cookies,
- can show how big she is, can show a doll and a cat, knows what the ear and nose are,
- can give kisse, which we call 'buzi,'
- can surely clap,
- huge walker and runner; always busy busy on the go,
- can say mama, dada, baba, lala, papa,
- very joyful and happy baby!

As of today, we were pretty sure she doesn't know how to use a straw. Oh well, it only took one sip of Banana Cream shake from Chick-fil-A (Daddy was craving it, so it was a part of his Daddy's Day gift) to make us think that somebody cheated the whole time ;).

Happy Father's Day!!!

DADA!!!
We took Daddy to Baker's Crust in Short Pump mall for brunch  (you can tell we like the place). We always have a good time there and the food is yummy.

After brunch, we just hung out around the house. Daddy grilled yummy loaded with herbs and garlic burgers and fresh veggies we picked up at Farmers Market on Saturday morning!

Daddy's Day gift from Julia that is going to hang in his office on Monday :)

Busy weekend!!!

Our weekend went by very fast, unfortunately. On Saturday morning we hit Farmers Market and bought fresh strawberries, carrots and other veggies and couldn't pass the yummy breakfast they offer. We got breakfast quesadillas and steak tacos. Everything was just soooo good :). Later that day, we were working hard on our yard (still so much to do). I had to take a break after my encounter with yellow jackets last weekend. After Julia's second nap, we went to Stony Point Mall to splash in the kids friendly fountain. Julia was so funny; she would run into it and right before the water she just turned around and ran away ;). Here are some shots from that day.

Water friendly shoes :)

On Sunday, we drove to Potomac Mills to the closest Ikea store. We originally planned to buy a buffet table/cabinet to replace our old wine rack/storage/nook. We left with the buffet table, dresser for our bedroom, 2 matching nightstands, leather sofa, bunch of pillows and smaller accessories, huh. We were debating about buying a leather bed frame, but at the end decided to postpone it for the next trip. Julia was a trooper, even though she took a 30 min nap in the car. She was getting a little bit sleepy after lunch in the Ikea cafeteria, but she has a hard time to fall asleep in public places and in the stroller. When she started being a little bit uncomfortable, I grabbed the cutest cloth book from the children's section and gave it to her. Daddy decided that she had enough toys and took it away, just to realize that she got really interested in that book. He obviously returned with it and was very apologetic: 'Daddy is so sorry' ;).
Overall, we had a pleasant and successful trip.

Splash, splash!!!

The weather was just perfect to spend a quality time outside. On Friday, we drove to the Stony Point outdoor mall to splash in the fountain. Julia loved watching all the kids and it looked like she wanted to play in the water too. Unfortunately, we didn't have water friendly shoes. But don't worry, we stopped by Babies r' us on the way home and purchased some :).

4 miler + prison break

Before Julia's nap, while I was preparing her lunch, I heard some suspicious noise/excitement from the living room and this is what I saw. We call it 'prison break' and 'the great escape' :)))))).

In general, after a busy day at work, people like to rest on their sofas with TV on, beer in their hands and just chill. Dada Paget is not the case. He decided to run 4mile corporate run in Innsbruck, so we jumped in the car up and drove that whole 10 min ;) to cheer on Daddy :). His firm had free food for all the contestants, so we took advantage of it :).

Play date with Sofia!

Last Friday, Sofia, Julia's friend paid a visit. We had a great time. Mamas were chatting while girls were playing and eating yummy lunch. They were getting along just fine. We will schedule another play date very soon ;).

Greek Festival and Yellow Jackets!!!

On Saturday morning, we went to the West End Farmers market to get some fresh veggies and fruit mainly for the Princess. We got zucchini, squash, potatoes, radishes, beans, beats, carrots, strawberries and blueberries. Everything was just amazing, especially strawberries. We also had breakfast there; shrimp and grits tacos. Soooooo yummmy!!! I've never had that before, but Justin said that it was the best shrimp and grits he has ever had :).

When Julia went down for her nap, Justin went to Lowes and I started working on the yard just to accidently got to close to yellow jackets's nest and got stung by 4 mean bees; 3 right below my butt ;) and 1 in my arm. First 3 weren't too bad, because I was wearing thick shorts, but the one on the arm pretty much paralized my arm (made it super sore) along with the left part of my chest and upper back. I guess I had a mild allergic reaction to it. It got better after few hours.
It was a Greek Festival weekend. Even though, the weather was exceptionally nice, we had to settle for a drive through service, because the lines were outrageous. Food was amazing as usual; we got moussaka meals, gyros, and baklava to die for ;).
On Sunday afternoon, Nana Francie paid a visit. She brought some toys and played with Julia a little bit.

She brought lasagna and to my surprise Julia loved it. She ate the whole bowl. Nana's cooking got some major approval :).
