Memorial Day weekend!

We had  a very laid back Memorial Day weekend. Grandparents Pagets and Gramme paid a visit and we shopped a little bit in Short Pump Mall. Julia was in the center of attention and enjoyed every minute of it :). Papa Joe volunteered to buy Julia new sandals (white), but she was quite terrified of a sales person and we had some tears. However, we chose some cute sandals :). We had some quality time next to the fountain as well. We wanted to spend more time outside, but it was soooo hot!

Gramme was playing with Julia a lot and they were both blowing bubbles.

On Saturday evening, boys were in charge of cooking dinner and made a rotisserie chicken. It was really good. On Sunday morning we went for brunch to the Baker's Crust restaurant and stopped by the fountain again. Yeah, Julia loves that thing ;). In the evening we all went to the Avalon restaurant ( Spanish tapas place). The food was very good, not for calorie counting people though ;).

On Monday morning, Daddy, Mommy and Marie decided to burn some calories and went to the Seal Team boot camp workout while Gramme and Papa Joe were babysitting. Everyone survived hehe.
Gramme stayed a little bit longer and played with Julia outside while Mommy and Daddy did some yard work.
After everyone left, we had some fun swinging and playing in the back yard :).

Rocking her new sandals:)

Afternoon activity!

We went to the Short Pump Mall to return few unnecessary items Mommy bought. Of course we had to stop by the fountain. Julia was spotted by very handsome, blue-eyed 15-month old boy who just couldn't stay away hehe. Julia finally decided to stick her finger in his mouth to back off ha. That's my girl!!!
We also stopped by Barnes & Noble to buy another 'Olivia' book (Julia's and Daddy's favorite). Julia was obsessed by the train table at the store and was all over it :).

Potty training preparation!

Yes, it is still early, but we try to get Julia used to the look, feel and an idea of the potty seat. Ola and I were both fully potty trained by the age of 18 months, so our goal is being out of diaper by the age of 24 months. In general, in Poland children are potty trained much sooner than in the U.S. and Julia is half Polish after all :). We ordered Baby Bjorn potty already and also got 2 potty books: "Potty," and "Big girls go potty."

Lebanese Food Festival!

On Sunday morning, we took Nana to make-up Romp n' Roll class while Daddy was playing soccer. After all these activities and the morning nap, we decided to have lunch at the Lebanese Food Festival. The crowd was overwhelming, but the food was to die for. Meat pies, spinach pies, delicious pastries were the reward for waiting in very long lines. In the evening Dada took Nana to the Willie Nelson concert and Julia spent the laid back evening with Mama :).

Saturday fun!

In anticipation of Nana's Francie arrival, we have done some major cleaning this morning. As a reward, we went to Baker's Crust restaurant at Short Pump Mall for brunch. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and the food was exceptionally good. We both had salmon bagel with hash browns.Yummy! We highly recommend this place to anyone :). Great food and great atmosphere! Julia was enjoying herself a lot and definitely let everyone know she was there. Yeah, we have a little Screamer!:) We obviously had to stop by the infamous fountain, so little Miss Show Off could demonstrate her walking skills as well as screaming skills!:) She also tried to climb on the fountain edge hehe.

We got home around 3pm and Itty had a hard time with her nap. She eventually went down, but not earlier than 4.45pm. We had to wake her up around 6.30pm, right after Nana Francie arrived, so we could all go out and have Japanese food for dinner!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a very special second Mother's Day (that's right, second one, not sure why a lot of people think this is my first one ;)). Julia and Daddy surprised me with gorgeous flowers and Daddy made a yummy omelette for breakfast. Later that day we went to Maggiano's (Italian restaurant) for lunch (big thanks to Papa Joe and Marie for a gift card). We took advantage of such a gorgeous day and just walked around  Short Pump mall (outside mall), shopped a little bit and played (screamed/showing off ;)) next to the fountain!

Julia skipped her afternoon nap and unfortunately had a hard time to fall asleep in the evening. She did fall asleep quickly, but woke up crying (which never happens) after 30 min. We think it could be a bad dream, because she calmed down when we started reading to her. However, every time we tried to put her down, she started crying again. Eventually, she calmed down after I gave her a new toy to play with. Around 9.30pm she was out and slept until 10am the next morning. WOW!!!

Playtime with Timmy aka Timmy time :)

Finally, today, we made it happen!!! Julia had her play date with Timothy ( 3 months older than Julia). We had it scheduled for 2 weeks ago, but due to Timmy's stomach virus, we had to reschedule it for this Saturday. We had a great time eating yummy brunch food and catching up with our friends Sarah, who is due with another baby in 5 weeks (sex unknown) and  her husband Mark. Their house is huge and Justin was blown away with the basement bar area :).
Julia had a great time playing with Timmy's toys; he has probably 10 times more toys than she has. Craziness :).

With all the toys around, they both loved Sarah's bracelets;). And you can see a familiar chair :), so familiar to Julia that she decided to poop on it ;) oopsie haha. We told Sarah that this is a compliment because Julia has always a hard time to do it outside the house ;)

Timmy's favorite toy - swiffer ;)

Mini snap shots!

Yesterday, before the Romp n' Roll class, Julia happily struck a few poses and mama quickly grabbed her camera to snap some shots :). You might notice upper teeth coming in!
Ps. 1 year-old pics are coming up (will keep you updated).

Julia is a little bit off schedule for the past few days. She sleeps in until 9am, which is her usual morning nap time hour, plays until 11am and goes down for a late morning nap that lasts until 1pm. Yesterday, I tried to put her down for an afternoon nap around 4pm, but she had a hard time to fall asleep and considering the fact that her Romp n' Roll class starts at 5.30pm, we had to skip her afternoon nap. Today, we had a similar situation, but she finally went down for her afternoon nap around 5 pm and slept until 6.30pm. We knew that the usual bed time routine was not going to happen today, therefore, we all went out for dinner :). Tomorrow, Julia is having a busy day (play date with Timmy at 11am), so we have to make sure she wakes up around 7.30am, goes for a nap at 9am and wakes up at 10.30am. Fingers crossed:).

Granola bar!

We try to find new snacks that Julia would enjoy and be willing to eat! Today, we had granola/cereal bar with cherry filling. It looks like it was tasty :).

Mommy teaches me how to walk and Daddy.....

Daddy is so smart that he decided to teach me this very useful trick. Yes, you can judge it! All these years of college and a law school finally paid off ;).

What does Tyra Banks say?

When you walk the runway and you fall, you shake it off and keep going!:) That's what models do!!!

Today, mama scored that super duper walker for $6. Jules loves it :).

Sofia's birthday party & Cinco de Mayo!

Today, we celebrated Sofia's 1st birthday party at Ramp n' Roll! Sofia is Julia's Romp n' Roll friend. We had such a good time, especially the little one. To be honest, only Julia got invited, we played the role of her entourage :). Kids had a blast bouncing, playing on the parachute, eating cupcakes and just browsing at the baby gym. After the party, we hit the Fresh Market to get some goodies for dinner. Daddy was eager to grill some turkey burgers, but due to the pouring rain and after Julia's 2,5 hr nap( body got super tired after the party), we all jumped into the car and drove to the Mexican restaurant to sip on margaritas. Mama drank 2 jumbo margaritas hmmmmm ;)! It is Cinco de Mayo after all :).

CINCO DE MAYO!

I cannot believe Mama drank 2 of those jumbo margaritas:)
